Here at Medway Kennels, we take great pride in the breeding and raising of our Rough Collies. We love to keep in contact with our puppy owners and enjoy seeing and hearing about how happy they are with the Medway Rough Collie(s)!

Crystal, Star is a testimate to the breeding, the temperament, the obedience etc. you have done. She is so well mannered that when I take her for a walk, other people with dogs berate their animals and say things like "why can't you behave like that collie". We hear things like that day in and day out. I feel like telling them she is only 8 months old too! In 2007 i finally got my wish to live outside the city. The first thing i did was research where i could buy a purebred rough collie here in Nova Scotia. My first contact was a long standing German breeder named Annette Mayer, who was retiring from breeding. She directed me to Medway Kennels owned and operated by Crystal Flemming. She assured me i would be very happy with the dogs being bred there. I contacted Crystal and patiently awaited the birth of my puppy. Ben a rough sable collie was born on July 25, 2007 and i went to get him 8 weeks later. He was a perfect puppy. He never did anything bad which totally spoiled me for future puppies. He was easy to train and became my co-pilot in the front seat of my truck a position he insists is his alone. About a year later i phoned Crystal and asked for another puppy as i decided Ben needed dog companionship and i ended up with Sky another rough sable collie who was one of Crystals own hand raised dogs intended for breeding but instead headed for a family home. She was a fantastic addition to my dog family. Both Ben and Sky have really good manners and what is great is listening to all the collie singing and watching all the collie playing . Then at Christmas 2010 Crystal posted the pictures of her latest litter online and i started considering yet another dog. This time i chose another female I named Susee, a tri-color rough collie. What a gangbuster she is. She is everything Ben was not. She knows her manners but she loves to play and play and play. i have no trouble controlling 3 dogs. Even on leashes.. Collies are so polite and so easy to deal with i can take them anywhere and everywhere. They all get along really well together and all i wonder now is how i ever lived without collies filling up my life with collie love. |
After losing our 13 year old rough collie Sabre, to say I was devastated would be an understatement. I was absolutely grief stricken. While struggling with the grieving process, I discovered Medway Kennels and soon contacted Crystal to inquire about any available puppies. Immediately, Crystal was sympathetic and understanding of the loss we had just endured and welcomed us to her home to meet Jasper (a three and a half month old sable male puppy available for adoption). I will never be able to thank Crystal and her family enough for giving us the opportunity to have Jasper in our lives. His nurturing upbringing and careful breeding were evident in his confidence and calm disposition right from the start. He was able to help me through the grieving process, recovery from surgery and other challenges presented to me in day to day life... always a faithful companion. Comet has truly been a blessing to the family... she is such a lovely girl. We could not be happier with her, she is slowly teaching Snips to be a little more social which is wonderful. As for keeping the ducks in line, it is quite a site to see... the end of the day when the ducks fly away for the night is comical. I think she will miss them when they fly away for the winter, however I think Snips and Buttercup will keep her busy. She is doing so lovely with the boys too, it is amazing, as soon as we let her out of her crate in the morning and she goes outside she comes in and goes straight for the boys, our youngest has actually fallen asleep a few days with his hands wrapped up in her fur and she loves it. I must say I have fallen asleep with her many times too, she is so snuggly that at night she gets up in bed with me until it is time to go in her crate and I adore her. Thanks again! |
We can not say enough wonderful things about Crystal and her gorgeous collies.Crystal is a kind, generous and sweet person who raises beautiful and healthy examples of the breed.Because of Crystal knowing our Daughter and knowing we were looking for another dog that would go along nicely with our other dogs we recently added her beautiful "Cupid" Medway's How Do I Love Thee to our family and every day we are continually impressed by the beautiful tri girl who stole our hearts.Impressed by her wonderful temperament, agile movement and fun sense of play.Cupid is personality personified...at almost 7 months old and 46 lbs she is a big goofball who thinks she's still a itty bitty puppy that can fit in your lap.She loves to play fetch, enjoys roaming the yard with her other doggie pals and enjoys being with her family, and loves children. When ever we have a question about Cupid or the breed Crystal is kind and generous with her time and knowledge of the breed to explain them to us. - Esther Beck & family
